Let's spare a thought for Index number 25, Mr Chee Yi Long.
It's his 17th birthday. He should be enjoying every single moment of that 24 hours, excluding his sleeping time, there's about 16 hours.
Exclude his normal activities, he left with around 2 to 3 hours, to be on the net surfing and enjoying his waiting game. As for the waiting game, only he knows =D

Right, what matters with a few people from other classes?
You mean you dunno Weiqiang, Leo, JieSheng, YuBiao, Russell and guys?
This might get some people a bit upset, but do listen to me, ya?
Last year dec gathering. Me, took over the role as part time organiser after some disputes over financial problems. We made it a CLASS gathering.
Yah, everyone should remember the time when we discuss or argue about the gathering through the old class forum.
So, it's a official CLASS gathering.
Weiqiang did came, okay, no one remembers who called him along. But nevermind, i hold the responsibility, let's take it that i'm the one who asked him along.

Least, during that close to 5 hours of BBQ time. He was at Downtown East's Tea Valley, buying a $2.50 bubble tea, sitting on the chair in the shop watching TV. After which, he went to the beach for the breeze. Alone.
Imagine doing all that alone, when he can just go to the chalet, ignoring the prescene of any other4H people.
But he choose to do that.
Yilong made the effort to find him at the beach.
While i didn't, it's Yilong who told me all that.

So, maybe you can say, It's a 100% 4H gathering.
But, no.
There's people who did came, that does not belong to our class.
Was it people from 4G or 4F?
I don't know. The worst part, I don't even KNOW who those people are!
To me, they might just be aliens from outer space..
I suppose MQ's friends are also there.
And guess what? I received complaints that people are throwing food at each other.
Somemore, the drinks are not poured into cups, but just drink directly from the bottles by non-4H people.

Did me or Yilong argue, scolded or say a F--- word for all these shit?

And what? The food is left OUTSIDE of the chalet in the morning, when everyone single 4H people left. Happily left.
Money's wasted, a total of $60 to $70
My effort's wasted, I am the one who ordered those food, carry those 12 bottles of drinks from NTUC to my home. I happily injured my fingers becos of that, and i din say anything.

So what happened to the food?
Who cleared the mess?
Me, Yilong and Wei qiang.
Weiqiang
WHY must a 4J person help 4H to clear the mess?
Did those friends that are non-4H helped clear?
I dare say, NO.

It's no longer a matter of money now.
Money, we can simply earn it back.
It doesn't matter who cooked the food, and how many variety are there.
Even with Bee hoon, so long as everyone's happy, it's a successful gathering.

So why get so flared up with whether it's a CLASS gathering or Birthday Gathering?

It's not easy to organise a (class) gathering, be it 4 or 40 people...

maybe you should see for yourself?

Total Cost for BBQ food: $138
That includes food for the people who are staying for that 4 days and the class.
Total cost for BBQ stuffs: $48
Total cost for drinks: $50-60
Extras Chicken Wings made by yilong's godmother: $50
Charges incurred for chalet: $20

Grand Total: $300-$316
I will make it $300

People who stayed for the chalet: Reich, Yilong, Nick, JieSheng, Leo
5 people = $125
No money received from Russell, Weiqiang or any other non-4H people.
Money received from the class: 5 people x $5 = $25
People who came? Less than 20

So, how many people bothered to pay?
It's the money constraint that only reduced the choice of food to only 3.
But cannot put the blame on the organisers for having to sacrifice their off days to prepare these, waste the time and effort to plan and on top of that, have to pay many many times the amount of money needed that a 4H student is paying.
So, who's at the ultimate most disadvantage side?

And after spending our efforts on this whole god damn (class) gathering, what we get is complains, absences, shorten of money for us to spend for the month.
No appreciation, no thanks.
Just complain.

Is it fair to us?

Okay, let's assume the class gathering is with people with only 4H people.
Do you think we'll get equal fun and laughter (if there's any) as compared with the presence of non-4H people?
Do you think we can carry the financial burden of a good $75 with the capability of me and yilong, when we only receive a pathetic $25 to support the whole cost of $300?

Don't forget, we're the ones who're sponsoring the whole damn thing.
My account only left with a pathetic balance of $10.99 after the damn gathering and yilong's account only left with $100+ and he will no receive anymore salary by the rich John Little.
And we're not even said a word of complaint.

What rewards and 'rewards' we get?
Fun. Yes, there's a percentage of fun element there.
Complain, Yup.
People who refused to come, knowing that there're people from other class or people who they do not want to meet.
People who made effort to notify for not coming, thanks ya'all!

Why get so affected by all these?
For goodness sake, we've graduated. Don't judge people. Don't avoid. Don't keep fun to yourself.
Why argue? It's simply meaningless.

We fear people not coming for the gathering than seeing people not paying.
We fear people not having fun at the gathering than people who's eating too much.
We fear people to make unpleasant moments than people who tried to engage in own activities.

So, should you guys be disappointed or we're the one to be disappointed by the response of 4H'05?

Ok, let's get this damn thing done, once and for all...

The maybe the last gathering of 4H'05 is confirmed to be on the 11 March. Come in the afternoon if you do want fun like outdoor activities..

We expects like 25 people coming for the gathering, as confirm got people who either dun bother to come, unable to get off days or are working on that day..

So, this gathering is not compulsory ah!! And thus, no consent forms will be given XD

Food thingy for the gathering..
I'm not going to get anyone from the class to pay a HUGE amount of money like $5 cos last year the $5 was like wasted.. And the food tat i bought last year was like all wasted... Especially the Bee hoon!

So, the highest amount that everyone need to pay is $2..But that's not confirmed yet.Maybe you dun have to pay at all, anyway, it's not confirmed yet lar..

Will send sms to everyone for the confirmed amount of money to pay, latest by 9 march.. To pay or not, we're not forcing.. But if you really have the face to eat when there's people who've already paid, then go ahead lo..

But rest assured that the money is not in digits, just one digit

Could be $1 or $2, or maybe $0

So the quantity of the food?
Sad to say, there won't be a lot of food to choose from to prevent further food waste like last year.. Don't think you all want stories about african kids not getting food to eat while we're wasting food ba.?

So, we'll buy just-enough food for the gathering itself. So in case we dun have enough food for the gathering, we might need volunteer to go out and buy extra food... And the volunteer will be none other than Mr Chee, the main organiser cum sponsor...

I bet he gotta be bankrupt this time round... XD

But i seriously think we'll have enough food. and budget.
